About Nancy
Nancy Chapple was born in the US and has been living and working in Europe, primarily in Berlin, since 1986.
She works as translator, interpreter and editor in the German and English languages on a freelance basis, building on her many years of professional experience in these fields.
Nancy studied German and French and piano performance at Oberlin College, and acquired certification as translator and interpreter in 1994. A career in management consulting followed, where she translated presentations, proposals, articles and brochures into English and edited such texts in both English and German. Other stages included building up and leading an editing team, developing and conducting communication training for management consultants, and direct deployment as a communication and change consultant for clients.
In January 2008 she founded a company of her own that conducts decision-making and problem-solving workshops. Her creative website showcases her writing and piano performances. Her creative writing ranges from personal essays to opinion pieces, from memoir to a researched book: Becoming German in the 21st Century.
